Writing Blog Posts That People Want to Read

Writing a blog postWhat goes through your head when you sit down to write a blog post?

What do I have to say? Will anyone read it? Who am I anyway?

Brendan Egan does a great job of getting my head in the game with his article: Here’s the Trick to Writing Blog Posts People Genuinely Want to Read.

Before dedicating one, two, or even more hours of your life to writing a blog post, follow these tips to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

  1. Avoid promotion.
  2. Use visuals.
  3. Use examples.
  4. Personalize your posts.
  5. Format properly.
  6. Have a means of getting readers.

Taking a little more care when writing a blog can have a profound effect on getting people to read your posts.

Great share Cheryl 🙂 I can’t agree with him about not promoting in the content though. A relevant promotion is not a bad thing when you’re delivering value within your content.

I LOVE what he says about formatting. I’m a fan of well formatted content for sure.
