I only recommend products and services that I have used myself. All of the following are FREE.
DropBox – What a great way to share large files with clients! You get 2G of storage for free and can share select folders with whoever might need it. Sending images via email can be very cumbersome and sometimes prohibitive.
Evernote – I use Evernote to store everything I want to learn or refer to later. It’s easily searchable using categories (notebooks) and tags. I used to bookmark everything, but I could never find what I was looking for. Now I can.
Evernote Web Clipper – And what would Evernote be without the web clipper? It is a free browser extension that makes it easy to capture any piece of content (page, article, url) and save it into a folder within your Evernote account.
Jing – You can take screenshots of whatever you see on your screen, save it, and share it as an image. You can also make short videos (5 minutes) and share a link to it. Being a visual person, I love being able to “show” someone how to do something rather than trying to talk them through it.
LastPass – I use LastPass every day. It generates and stores passwords for things I sign up for online. I only have to remember one password (the one to get into LastPass).
