The biggest obstacle I have when it comes to moving my business forward is not being able to find my desk.
Can you relate?
Working a traditional job means having set working hours; working from home can turn into a 24/7 life sucker.
I don’t mean that as a complaint, but rather a warning.
Without a separation of some sort between work and play, it’s very easy to get overwhelmed.
A big sign for me that I’m not adhering to those boundaries is that papers start piling up on my desk.
I listen to podcasts, take notes, set them aside, and do something else… maybe work related, maybe personal. I mean how likely are you to have two computers anyway… one for work and one for play? Not gonna happen in most home businesses.
When I walk into my office and see papers covering my desk it makes me want to leave the room. It certainly isn’t a stimulating environment for working on my business.
Can you relate?
I just cleared my desk off in preparation for the beginning of the month and two challenges that I have signed up for.
One challenge is called Ultimate Blog Challenge… 31 days of blogging every day. I’m scared and excited at the same time. A part of me is screaming, “What re you going to write about?” And another part of me is trying to reassure me that “It’s the push I need to get content on my site.”
The other challenge is NAMS Insiders 30-Day Challenge. The month of July is focused on list building. NAMS has a challenge every month, a different topic every month. I know people who have really moved their businesses forward by completing the challenges.
Clearing the clutter from a room gives you more room to move around. Clearing off a work space has the same effect.
Cleared desk = cleared mind. I feel like I have breathed in fresh air.
Have you ever felt that way? Tell me about a time you cleared away clutter and how it made you feel.
